Backstory
Her childhood dream was to be a figure-skater. However, she winded up working in marketing. At one point, she became Dave Seville's boss.
Alvin and The Chipmunks
Dave arrived late for a meeting due to (although she did not know this), driving the Chipmunks home. Dave tries to participate in the meeting, but the Chipmunks continue to cause trouble, first by calling Dave about issues at home, and also by drawing on his presentation. She ultimately fired him as a result. It is likely she understood the situation later after the Chipmunks' rise to fame.
