Maya Miller is fourth of The Chipettes and youngest yet tallest of all of them. She is the party one of the group as well as the self-proclaimed "funniest" one. Maya greatly relishes her role as a singer and her partying and close relation with Alvin regularly get her and her brothers (sometimes even Dave) into trouble.
Biography[]
(Alvin and the Chipmunks) Maya was separated from her brothers early. Being the temporarily most wild of the group, she adventured into the wild, looking for food, leaving her younger brothers alone. After a very long time of searching, she gave up, deciding to live by herself.
(Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel) During a snowstorm, she was trapped, and when it was over she found herself in a truck. It wasn't long until she realized she was trapped in a Fedex package, having a muffled conversation with what she thought to be fellow chipmunks.
With no where else to go, she decided to befriend them, accidentally falling out when she tried to free herself from sudden lack of air. Maya and the female chipmunks are all freed, introducing one another to each other. Maya watches as the girl trio sings, feeling a little left out but glad she made new friends.
They agree to be famous and Maya agrees to be their backup manager, smiling at the thought that they care for her. However, when they mention other Chipmunks, her hopes about her brothers lighten up but hatred for these munks appear as well.
When the Chipettes meet the Chipmunks, Maya laughs quietly at the reactions. She closely examines the Munks, thinking that they are her long lost brothers. Before she could say anything, Maya is dragged away by Brittany as she reminds her of what Ian says.
But the brothers gets back to reality long enough to realize Maya is their sister. To avoid conflict, Maya struggles to ignore them but she does. Maya watches the Chipmunks and The Chipettes compete against each other in a Battle of the Bands. Alvin warns Brittany about what Ian did to him and his brothers, but she doesn't believe Alvin. Alvin, though reluctantly, allows Simon to be humiliated in front of everyone when one of the jocks tricks him into thinking he's now the school Litter Monitor and he ends up being thrown into the dumpster.
At the concert, The Chipettes win after Simon and Theodore forfeit the competition because Alvin failed to show up (he hung out with the football team instead). Eager to get rich, Ian videotapes the girls performance and posts it on YouTube, along with his phone number. Finally, Alvin shows up only to see that everyone's gone. Maya feels left out more than ever but when the girls state they look up to Maya as a sister, she realizes she's a part of the group, whether she can sing or not.
Soon, The Chipettes are hired as the opening act at a Britney Spears concert at the Staples Center. Since the concert is on the same night as the school concert, Ian decides to blow off the battle and get the girls to perform at the concert. When Brittany notices that Ian plans to only make Brittany a star, she rebels by saying she won't do it without her sisters. Unwilling to let anything get in his way, Ian grabs them by their tails and threatens to barbecue them if they didn't do what he said.
Maya manages to run before Ian finds her and find the Chipmunks, explaining they her "sisters" have been locked in a cage and that Brittany admits that Ian was evil. Alvin and Maya race to save them on Alvin's red motorbike while Simon calls and tells her Jeanette how to open the cage on the phone. The Chipettes escape from the cage, climb out of the limo, and they jump onto Alvin's motorbike.
Ian pursues them with an R.C. helicopter, but they leap off the motorbike and grab onto the helicopter. Jeanette than snatches the remote and steers the helicopter away from Ian, while the motorbike drives straight into Ian's groin. Simon and Theodore are about to forfeit the concert again.
Then, Alvin and the girls fly into the hall on the helicopter. Maya insists to stay behind but everyone persuades her to sing for once. They all sing "We Are Family," winning the contest and the $25,000. Amazingly, Maya learns she's talented as well in both singing and dancing. Dave then comes back and watches them perform.
The Chipmunks and The Chipettes sing "Shake Your Groove Thing" to end the night and go back home with Dave. The Chipettes are re-adopted at the boy's request and sleep at the Chipmunks' house. While Maya's sleeping, the Chipmunks wake her in the middle of the night. They talk about the past which Maya quickly remembers, and they all hug, Maya crying heavily. She tries to apologize but Alvin shushes her and Simon tells her that it's all right now. And they will never leave her.
Dave has another injury. Dave tries to get Alvin to go to bed after and Alvin refuses. So, Dave turns the lights off and Alvin turns them back on. Dave turns them off again. Alvin turns them back on while Dave says "Alvin, that's it! Don't make me come over there!" Alvin says "OK" while turning the lights off causing Dave to trip on the skateboard and crash. Alvin turns the lights back on and says "Ohh boy, I suddenly got really, really tired. Heh, heh, night Dave!" He turns the lights off and Dave yells "ALVIN!"
(Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked) During a cruise for a family vacation, The Chipmunks and The Chipettes turn the ship into their personal playground, causing trouble. Dave notices that his old boss Ian Hawke is working as a pelican on the cruise and watching to see if the Chipmunks misbehave. Alvin and Simon were grabbed by Dave when they are caught in the casino. The captain allows them one more activity: Shuffleboard. Maya and Alvin fight decide to go para-sailing on a kite and they are blown away with the other chipmunks who are holding on. Dave tries to take a hang glider to go after them but Ian attempts to stop him and they both end up in the ocean.
Meanwhile, the seven chipmunks find an island and sleep for the night. Dave enlists Ian's help find the same island and begin looking for the seven chipmunks.
The next morning, The Chipmunks go and find food and while doing so, and two island castaways named Zoe and Max show up and sees The Chipmunks and The Chipettes for the first time. They then go to the two's tree house on a zip line. As Eleanor tries to get out of the basket, she falls and sprains her ankle. Soon after Simon and Maya get bitten by a spider that carries a neurotoxin. Max said it isn't a big deal and that Zoe is normal, despite being bitten twice a day by the spiders.
When Alvin prepares to sleep, Simon has trouble sleeping while Maya wanders off in the middle of the night. The next morning, Theodore observes Simon's personality has changed, becoming a French, adventurous chipmunk named Simone and follows him. They meet a fluffy Maya acting like a wolf, the three of them deciding to go bungee jumping.
Once Simone meets The Chipettes, he is overtaken by Jeanette and asks her to dance at Alvin's dismay. Later, Max takes Simone, Jeanette, Eleanor, and Theodore to a waterfall and Simone finds a cave while Alvin and Brittany are on the beach finding wood to make a shelter. He returns with a gold tiara which he gives to Jeanette.
The next day, Brittany and Alvin see an active volcano and they all decide to leave the island. Theodore and Simone finally find Dave and Ian. When they all get together, preparation of a raft to get them off the island goes underway and everyone is assigned a job.
When the raft is finished, Jeanette, Simone and Maya are still in the forest looking for food. Suddenly, Simone gets knocked out with Zoe's golf ball and Zoe kidnaps Jeanette. Simon goes unconscious and reverts to his normal self when he wakes.
When Simon is found, he cannot remember anything since the bite. Brittany, figuring Zoe is responsible, asks him where he found the gold bracelet that he gave to Jeanette, but he doesn't remember. Brittany then asks Eleanor how to get there. When they approached the tree log to cross, Dave and Alvin decide they'll go and find Jeanette, while Ian and other chipmunks go back to the coast.
Zoe meanwhile forces Jeanette to get the treasure by tying her to a rope. Max out of a kind heart, betrays his longtime partner Zoe and As Alvin and Dave come to her rescue, the island begins to rumble again and Zoe lets go of the rope. Jeanette runs with Dave and Alvin to find Maya but is pulled back at the log bridge. Simon swings in to help Jeanette before Alvin can cut the rope with his Swiss Army Knife. Dave is left hanging from the log when it almost gives way. Maya appears running back to the log but soon catches sight of Dave. She screams for help but when Zoe comes along, she is left in the same state as Dave.
Alvin and Ian try to convince Zoe to help save Dave and Maya, Max coming to the rescue as well. When Dave is helped up, Maya tells the truth that her leg is wrapped by vines, stuck in the log. She tells them to go, despite Alvin telling her, "I'll never let my sister leave again." Max steps in the way and talks to Maya while Alvin sacrifices his life by attempting to cut off the vines. Max tells Maya how beautiful she is and kisses her on the lips seconds before Alvin successfully cuts away the rope. They run towards the raft and escape the eruption. While on the raft, Zoe apologizes to Jeanette for kidnapping her and forcing her to get the treasure. As a gift, Jeanette gives Zoe the gold bracelet that Simone had given to her. Alvin reconciles with Dave and they are rescued. Before Max could confess his crush for Maya, Alvin gets in the way, ushering Maya away.
The Chipmunks and The Chipettes perform at the International Music Awards. Ian regains his career and job back by selling Zoe's story to Hollywood. Max lives with Zoe, knowing he could never leave the girl that taken him in when he was little child. In the film's epilogue, The Chipmunks, The Chipettes, and Dave are on a plane heading back home. Alvin is speaking on the pilot's microphone while Maya is laughing and Max is shaking his head but giggling as well. Alvin says plane's destination is set for Timbuktu, when flight attendant tells the plane will start to fly, Alvin accidentally pushes the food cart while Max tries to tell Alvin to stop before he gets in more trouble, which hits Dave-but fortunately he's unharmed. He then screams, "ALVIN!".

Appearance[]
In the Alvin and the Chipmunks series, she has light brown hair in a ponytail and red eyes, and her signature color is red. She is commonly seen wearing a pink skirt with a red top, dark blue jeans and red earrings.
Maya in the CGI films has pink eyes. In Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, she wears a light pink shirt with a red leather jacket and yellow earrings with dark blue jeans. In Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, she wears a red jacket with a pink shirt and pink skirt with black dots, as well as white-flowered garments and a red-sparkle dress. In Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, she wears a red jacket with a pink-and white-striped shirt and a pink-and black-striped skirt with a matching belt.
In ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks, her hair, is straight with a red ribbon, yellow earrings, and she has light red eyes with dark pink eye shadow as well as red lips and red nails with white polka dots. Her usual attire consists of a red long-sleeved button-up cardigan with a white cursive 'M', a lighter pink skirt, black skirt, and a shiny red shoes with a little bow.

Dave[]
The relationship between Maya and Dave is frustrating and calming at the same time. Like Alvin, Maya would be adventurous and stray off into some trouble. Dave would of course find out and instead of screaming, he would scold her. But unlike Alvin, she knows when enough is enough. Knowing her past, Dave is very protective of Maya and understand she's important in Alvin's life. He'll die for her and is very nervous when boys-mostly Max-approach her.
Alvin[]
Maya and Alvin are tight! They are like peas in a pod, always there for each other. Alvin would die for Maya and Maya in turn would do the same. Even when his buddy, Max is by her, he would often usher him away before Max could make any romantic moves. Maya often gets annoyed by this but this doesn't make Alvin and Maya any less of partners in crime.
Simon[]
Like with his relationship with Alvin, Maya and Simon argue often. Sure, she can appreciate his "master mind" and they do read books a lot-but when Simon gets all responsible and stuck up, she can't help but start arguing with him. At points he'll yell at her, causing her sigh. He'll stop after that because she'll walk off, with tears in her eyes. They might have a complicated relationship but Simon's honestly just looking out for her.
Theodore []
Maya is very passionate with Theodore, accepting that he takes his time with things. She's very caring for him and especially bonds with him when they're at carnivals or eating events. They compete together for eating competitions, usually winning first or second place. Nevertheless, they're happy-not for the prize but for the food.
