"The Elves and the Shoemaker" is an adaptation of the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm originally performed in Muppet Classic Theater. Although John Cleese narrates the story, the song "Bad Shoe Blues" also originally performed in Muppet Classic Theater is covered by The Chipmunks and Chipettes in the role of the elves, featuring Mickey Mouse in the role of the shoemaker and his nephews Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse in "The Elves and the Shoemaker" segment of Disney Classic Theater.

Mickey, Morty and Ferdie watch as they grinned with excitement. They then danced a bit with the music The Chipmunks and Chipettes are using while they work on the shoes.
Mickey: Oh boy!
Morty: We are rich!
Ferdie: At least until that stupid collector comes.
Pete: (coming in) Who are you calling stupid? (snatches the gold) I'll take that!
Morty and Ferdie: What?!
He then left as Morty and Ferdie gasp.
Morty and Ferdie: (sighs) We are poor.
Mickey: No we aren't. Because I have been studying these blue suede shoes and now I know how to make shoes that are not really ugly!
The trio smiled as they hugged.
Three: Yay!
Mickey: Oh, boys, those chipmunks have been so very good to us, I think the time has come to thank them for their kindness.
